Indianapolis is the capital city of the state of Indiana, and this state has a population of more than 6.2 million people. Methamphetamine is made in Indiana, and the drug is higher in purity than the methamphetamine that comes from Mexico, but a lot of this drug available on the street is shipped in by Mexican drug cartels. Heroin can be found in black tar, Mexican brown, and Asian white varieties, with certain types available in certain areas of the state. Marijuana is smuggled into Indiana and this drug is also cultivated in the state as well. Marijuana is grown indoors and outside, and there is wide access to this drug. Marijuana is the most commonly abused drug in Indiana, and is used by almost all ages and economic levels.

 

Marijuana possession in Indiana can be a misdemeanor or a felony, depending on whether the amount is more or less than 30 grams of marijuana. Possessing 30 grams or less of marijuana can result in up to 1 year in jail and a fine of $5,000 maximum. Possession of over 30 grams of marijuana can mean from 6 months to 3 years in jail, and a fine of up to $10,000. Selling or cultivating 30 grams or less of marijuana is treated the same as possession of the drug. Selling or cultivating more than 30 grams up to 10 pounds can mean from 6 months to 3 years in jail, and a fine of up to $10,000.
