Gambling Addiction
Compulsive gambling is a type of impulse-control disorder. Compulsive gamblers can’t control the impulse to gamble. They chase losses despite potentially serious consequences. Gambling is all they can think about and all they want to do, regardless of outcome. Compulsive gamblers keep gambling whether they’re up or down, broke or flush, happy or depressed. Just like other addictions, underlying problems need to be dealt with. Sometimes, gambling is related to the sudden death of people around the person, neglect, or feelings of inferiority.
