Marijuana possession in Indiana can be a misdemeanor or a felony, depending on whether the amount is more or less than 30 grams of marijuana. Possessing 30 grams or less of marijuana can result in up to 1 year in jail and a fine of $5,000 maximum. Possession of over 30 grams of marijuana can mean from 6 months to 3 years in jail, and a fine of up to $10,000. Selling or cultivating 30 grams or less of marijuana is treated the same as possession of the drug. Selling or cultivating more than 30 grams up to 10 pounds can mean from 6 months to 3 years in jail, and a fine of up to $10,000.
