Amanda Bynes has made headlines again, and apparently she is not willing to admit guilt and face responsibility for her DUI charge from April 6. Bynes apparently feels that she is a matter of national interest and that President Obama should step up and fire the police officer who made the arrest. Talk about delusions of grandeur. According to her tweet to the president: “Hey @BarackObama…I don’t drink. Please fire the cop who arrested me. I also don’t hit and run. The end.” If alcohol did not play a factor then why did Amanda refuse to take a breathalyzer test when she sideswiped a police car at 3 in the morning? The tweet was sent right after her hearing for the DUI charge. It is doubtful that the president will step in and make Amanda Bynes troubles disappear or try to have the police officer disciplined or terminated in any way at all.
Substance abuse treatment is one possible option for Amanda Bynes that may help mitigate her legal troubles. If Bynes chooses to go to rehab then it is very possible any judge will be somewhat lenient in the DUI sentencing if she pleads or is found guilty. From the tweet sent to President Obama it does not seem like Bynes is remorseful or feels bad in any way, and this denial may prove to be a big problem. It is also very likely that her license could be taken away or restrictions placed on her driving privileges. Many wonder why Bynes would imagine the president would intervene in the first place. This may show just how out of touch this actress really is.
